CannonSmash Web is a browser-based remake and derivative of the
original CannonSmash. The physics engine (ball flight, bounce,
shot solver, ball state machine) is a direct port of the original
C++ code. Game rules, AI behaviour, player archetype concepts,
and control feel are derived from the original work.

In July 2026, the original React/three.js prototype was discarded
and the project was fully redesigned and reimplemented by Claude
(Anthropic's "Fable" model) based on the faithful physics port,
reverse-engineering notes, the original's known feel, and the
designer's specification. The resulting codebase is a complete
   from-scratch rewrite using vanilla TypeScript + three.js.
