# Code ownership for THE NINTH VIGIL.
#
# WHAT THIS FILE DOES TODAY: it names @iamlukethedev as owner of every path, so
# GitHub can request a review automatically. By itself it does NOT require that
# review to happen.
#
# The enforced rule is the branch ruleset "Protect main" (id 25445741,
# enforcement: active), read live with:
#
# gh api repos/iamlukethedev/The-Ninth-Vigil/rulesets/25445741
#
# It blocks deletion of main, blocks force-pushes, requires the
# "Convention guard" and "Boot + determinism" status checks, and requires review
# threads to be resolved. It also reports:
#
# required_approving_review_count: 0 -> no approval is required to merge
# require_code_owner_review: false -> this file's ownership is not enforced
#
# The ruleset also has one bypass actor: the repository Admin role
# (actor_id 5, bypass_mode "always"), so an admin can merge past every rule
# above. `bypass_actors` is only returned to a token with admin rights; a
# read-only token sees no such key and `current_user_can_bypass: "never"`,
# which is easy to misread as "no bypass exists".
#
# So a contributor with write access can open, approve and merge their own pull
# request once the two checks pass. What protects `main` today is the CI gates and
# review practice, not a code-owner requirement. Stated plainly because the
# previous version of this file claimed the opposite.
#
# TO ACTUALLY ENFORCE REVIEW, a maintainer changes the ruleset (Settings -> Rules
# -> Protect main), not this file: set required approving reviews to 1 and enable
# "Require review from Code Owners". Any change to the bypass list is recorded
# in .github/rulesets/protect-main.json in the same change, so the committed copy
# and the enforced state cannot drift apart again.
#
# Note for contributors: `src/main.js`, `src/core/Engine.js`, `src/game/modules.js`,
# `src/game/Scenarios.js`, `index.html` and `tools/*` are the integration spine every
# module is written against. Changing them is sometimes right, but say why in the PR.
# See ENGINE_CONTRACT.md.
