Breakout Blue - licence ======================= Breakout Blue is a stealth puzzle game by Team Chimera (mit-mit and Lucid Design Art), made for PyWeek 27 (September 2018). This site serves the original entry from the PyWeek archive: https://s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/media.pyweek.org/27/chimera-27/Breakout_Blue_pyweek27_final.zip sha256 7138a1a2ef3a102d5a3abaad8fd7dc8f3ad5d66b6002237d9825dc7a6ddd64a7 (entry page: https://pyweek.org/e/chimera-27/; retrieved 2026-11-04) The licence sentence in the README of that zip reads, exactly: "Licence: All of the artwork and code for this game (excepting those listed below) is CC0 (free to use in whatever manner you see fit, attribution not required)" The exceptions it lists are one font derived from a CC0 original ("Another Old Font" by Kelvin Shadewing) and eight sounds from freesound.org: four CC0 (Adam_N, doggo_mcdoggo, zerolagtime, vlammenos) and four CC BY 3.0 (FreqMan, InspectorJ twice, AGC66). The CC BY 3.0 sounds are used unchanged; credit: "Button and Switches" by FreqMan (https://www.freesound.org/people/FreqMan/sounds/31589/), "Door" by InspectorJ (https://freesound.org/people/InspectorJ/sounds/431118/), "Chewing carrot" by InspectorJ (https://freesound.org/people/InspectorJ/sounds/412068/) and "Boulder fall" by AGC66 (https://freesound.org/people/AGC66/sounds/393865/), all under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/). What this site serves: the breakout-blue.pgapp built by Builds/build-breakout-blue.sh from that zip, with the changes published as web.patch next to the source: the main loop became asynchronous (a pygbag requirement), the Quit button of the title screen does nothing, progress is written to /saves, and the game's main.py became src/bb_main.py. The level editor and the duplicated README.md were left out. No artwork, sound or music was altered. The game runs on pygame-ce (LGPL-2.1) and CPython 3.12 compiled by the pygbag project; their licences and source are on the site's Licenses page. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ README.txt (from the game) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ================= “Breakout Blue“ ================= PyWeek 27 Entry for theme “6” (https://pyweek.org/27/) Team entry by "Team Chimera" (mit-mit and Lucid Design Art) ============= Requirements: ============= Python 2/3 (tested on 2.7.6 and 3.6): http://www.python.org/ Pygame 1.9+: http://www.pygame.org/ ================= Running the game: ================= Open a terminal/console/shell, "cd" to the game directory and run the command python run_game.py ================ Playing the game ================ Background Story: The legendary cat burglar crew known as the “Stealthy Six” have finally bee apprehended and locked up in Blueland State Penitentiary!
