Castle of Viana: Capiroto's Revenge é um jogo de plataforma e ação para MS-DOS de Daniel "MontyOnTheRun"
Monteiro (programação, som e parte da arte) e Pedro Fernandes (arte), feito para a CGA Jam de 2017.

Licença: o repositório do jogo (https://github.com/TheFakeMontyOnTheRun/castelo-de-viana) traz no
LICENSE a licença BSD de 2 cláusulas, "Copyright (c) 2017, Daniel Monteiro", reproduzida abaixo. Ela
permite redistribuir o binário, inclusive comercialmente, desde que o aviso de copyright e a licença
acompanhem a distribuição (este arquivo). Não há obrigação de publicar o fonte.

Arte: perguntamos ao autor se a licença cobre também a arte de Pedro Fernandes (issue #6 do
repositório, https://github.com/TheFakeMontyOnTheRun/castelo-de-viana/issues/6). Resposta de Daniel
Monteiro, em 21/10/2026:

  "Hello. Everything is BSD-2. Pedro was very much in agreement to everything being open source.
  Knock yourself out - the game even has a WASM version (Makefile.emsdk); wish you success."

Música e efeitos: tocados pelo próprio programa (AdLib/OPL2 ou alto-falante do PC), a partir de notas
escritas no código. A tela de abertura e a de vitória tocam a melodia da "Ode à Alegria" da 9ª Sinfonia
de Beethoven (1824), em domínio público, e a de fim de jogo o motivo de abertura da 5ª Sinfonia dele.

Código de terceiros no viana.exe: a biblioteca OPL2 de Maarten Janssen (ArduinoOPL2, licença MIT), na
adaptação para DOS de Peter De Wachter (OPL2TEST, mesma licença), usada para a música em AdLib e OPL2LPT;
o texto da licença MIT está abaixo. O programa foi compilado com o DJGPP (libc e emulador de FPU, cujos
termos permitem distribuir o binário).

O que este site serve: o pacote "Castle of Viana v2.1" do itch.io (https://montyontherun.itch.io/castle-of-viana,
sha256 2bb40e4a...; viana.exe, cga.pfs e gamedata.pfs de 2023), sem alterar nenhum arquivo do jogo. O
pacote não traz servidor DPMI, então o bundle acrescenta o CWSDPMI r7 oficial de Charles W Sandmann, sem
modificações, cujos termos permitem distribuir sem o fonte desde que o usuário seja avisado do direito a
ele (ver /licenses). O bundle também acrescenta o FREDYKEY.COM, um programa nosso de 19 bytes (mesma
licença BSD de 2 cláusulas) que põe as teclas "2" e "1" no buffer do teclado antes de o jogo começar,
para escolher sozinho o som (AdLib) e o vídeo (CGA) nas duas perguntas do início.
