Gravitation — licence ===================== Gravitation is a game by Jason Rohrer (March 2008, version 3). The author's page for the game, http://hcsoftware.sf.net/gravitation (https://hcsoftware.sourceforge.net/gravitation/; read on 2026-11-01), says, in its list of facts about the game: Version: 3 (released March 3, 2008) ... Credits: All code, music, graphics, fonts, and animation by me. I used mtPaint and The GIMP to make all of the pixel art. I used the SDL Library for cross-platform screen, sound, and user input. I used MinGW to build the game for Windows. The source tarball itself (Gravitation_v3_UnixSource.tar.gz, from the author's SourceForge project, "hcsoftware") carries no licence file or header: the public-domain dedication is the one on the page above, which covers the code, the music and the graphics (all by the author). A public-domain dedication needs no notice to be kept; this file records where it comes from. What this site serves: the game compiled to WebAssembly from that tarball by build-gravitation.sh (Emscripten 6.0.10), with the changes of gravitation-browser.patch, both hosted alongside the game: - the game draws with SDL 2 (the Emscripten toolchain has only SDL 2) instead of SDL 1.2, and its window is the 594x600 picture that the settings files ask for (windowed, no full screen); - it waits for the page between frames (emscripten_sleep) instead of blocking the browser; - Q and Esc no longer end the program, and the F key (full screen) and the B key (zoom) do nothing. The graphics and the music are the original files, unchanged. The compiled game also contains parts of SDL 2.32.10 (zlib licence), of the Emscripten runtime (MIT licence) and of musl libc (MIT licence), whose notices follow.
