Taipo - licence =============== A typing tower defence by Rob Parrett (rparrett on GitHub, euclidean-whale on itch.io), made in Rust with the Bevy engine. Source: https://github.com/rparrett/taipo, checked at commit 3743db6cd6168feb92e6538361491b56e842bb83. The repository's LICENSE file says (original text): Taipo's code is dual-licensed under either * MIT License (docs/LICENSE-MIT or ) * Apache License, Version 2.0 (docs/LICENSE-APACHE or ) * Enemy Art from is licensed under CC-BY-SA 3.0: * Other assets are licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0: and its README adds, under Attribution (original text): We're temporarily using some unmodified assets from [BrowserQuest](https://github.com/mozilla/BrowserQuest), which are licensed under CC-BY-SA 3.0. Attribution as these licences ask: - The enemy sprites (the crab, the skeleton, the second skeleton, the snake and the death knight; assets/textures/enemies/) come from the game BrowserQuest, created by Little Workshop (Franck Lecollinet and Guillaume Lecollinet), https://github.com/mozilla/BrowserQuest, content licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/). They are used unmodified by the author, and we did not change them. - The other pictures, the sounds and the word lists of the game are by Rob Parrett, under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). We did not change them (apart from the word-list changes below). - The code is under the MIT License or the Apache License 2.0, at your option. The docs/ folder the LICENSE file points to is not in the repository, so the standard texts of both licences are in taipo-licenses.txt next to the build (the MIT text is also below), together with the full texts of CC BY-SA 3.0 and CC BY-SA 4.0 and the BrowserQuest notice. - The fonts are Noto Sans Light (Copyright 2015 Google LLC) and Noto Sans JP Light (Copyright 2014-2020 Adobe), both marked inside the font files as licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (text in taipo-licenses.txt). Share-alike: the pictures and sounds of the game, and anything we may have changed in them, stay under these same CC BY-SA licences, and the sources of everything are published next to the build. Changes to the game, published with the source as a patch (taipo-word-lists.patch) and a one-line script (taipo-prepare.sh): - The English word list (assets/data/word_list/english.txt) is not included. It entered the repository in a single commit with no statement of where the words came from, so it is left out, and its entry is removed from the start menu (assets/data/game.ron). - A few entries of the kana list that are names of commercial brands and of characters owned by others (five words) were removed from assets/data/word_list/kana.jp.txt. The page that hosts the game (index.html and start.js, made from the templates published next to the build) is ours: it starts the game on a click, scales the canvas to the window and blocks any request outside the site. The licences of the Rust libraries compiled into the WebAssembly module are in taipo-licenses.txt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MIT License (the standard text, with the author as the copyright holder) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Copyright (c) Rob Parrett Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.
