Word Tracer - licence ===================== Word Tracer (https://github.com/plhosk/wordtracer), checked at commit 272cf919353b253bb4e66ae6c8a451882e547418 (2026-04), is a word puzzle with a letter wheel and a crossword-style board by Paul Hoskinson, written in TypeScript with Vite (Capacitor is used only for the Android app). The code is under the MIT licence (the LICENSE file below). The game has no sound, no fonts and no pictures other than its favicon. The levels (src/data/levels.*.json) and the built-in dictionary (src/data/dictionary.*.json) were generated by the author's scripts from the word lists and dictionaries listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md, which is reproduced below. The definitions shown in the in-game dictionary come from Webster's Unabridged Dictionary (public domain, via Project Gutenberg) and from WordNet 3.0 (the Princeton University licence below, which requires its notice to appear on all copies). The level data declares wordfreq (Robyn Speer; code under Apache-2.0, data under CC BY-SA 4.0) among its sources, so it is credited here and on the game page; no wordfreq data file is included, only words chosen with its help. The source of the build served here (the repository at that commit, which includes the data and the generator scripts, plus the patch and the build script) is hosted next to the game and linked from its page. Our changes are two: a Content-Security-Policy meta tag that blocks every request to other sites, and the GitHub link of the settings screen turned into plain text. ================ LICENSE of the repository (MIT) ================ MIT License Copyright (c) 2026 Paul Hoskinson Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.
