About the game
A Cozy Winterwalk is a small, quiet game about a morning in the snow. You wake up in a warm little house, drink a cup of tea, water the flower, find your boots and then step outside into the woods to visit a friend. Along the way you pass a frozen lake, a fox den, an old pine tree and a neighbour who asks you to take something to your friend, and everything you stop to look at has a friendly line about it.
There are ten rooms, the palette changes from purple at home to pale blue outside, and the whole thing is a few minutes long with no way to fail. It is a game about coziness, not about challenge, and it ends where the title promises it will, at a friend's fire. It was made in Bitsy in 2018.
Playing it here
Click Play, then use the arrow keys (or W A S D) to walk. Walk into things and people to read what they say, and press any movement key or Enter to move on to the next line. On a phone or tablet, swipe or tap on the screen. Nothing is sent anywhere and there is no save: the whole thing starts over when you reload.

A few things worth knowing
Pick everything up. Tea, boots, seeds and mushrooms show up in the text as you collect them.
Keep the cat close. He joins you in the woods and is still with you at the friend's door.
No sound. The original version played a song from a video site, which we removed; the game is silent here.
Credits and licence
A Cozy Winterwalk was made by Rick (tinyworlds) and published under the MIT licence in the repository tinyworlds/winterwalk-game. The licence text, together with the licence of the engine, is linked from this page. The page is the single-file export of the Bitsy engine (MIT, the Bitsy authors) with the game inside. We removed the background music, which the original loaded from a video site, so no request leaves this page.
