About the game

Six cards are laid out at the bottom of the screen. Each has a number, which is the damage it deals, and a colour: red, blue or green. In every round you tap cards one by one, and the total damage builds up as a big percentage in the middle of the screen. The round ends as soon as the total reaches 100% or the cards run out, and the points are the total times your multiplier. A red line is creeping down toward the cards the whole time. Every card you play nudges it forward, and a strong round (over 115%) pushes it back up. If it reaches the card row, the game is over.

The colours matter. A red card played first in the round does a quarter more damage, a green card adds damage but can never take the total past 99, and a round that finishes with a blue card brings some of your used cards back. Played cards also come back a bit stronger. The trick is to build a total just under 100 with small and green cards, then finish with a big one: a total of 150 or 200 returns more cards, and clearing a full set of cards raises the multiplier.

Attack Chain is one of the one-button mini-games that Kenta Cho, who works as ABA Games, makes with his crisp-game-lib library. There are no image or sound files: the graphics are drawn by the code, and the sound effects and music are generated while you play.

Playing it here

Click Play, then click or tap inside the game to start. The multiplier is at the top left, and the percentage in the middle is the damage of the current round. Nothing is installed or sent anywhere. The best score at the top right is only remembered while the page stays open.

A few things worth knowing

Open with red. The first card of a round gets a quarter bonus when it is red, so put a strong red there.

Fill up with green. Green damage stops at 99, so it is a safe way to get close to 100 before the big finisher.

Finish big, and on blue. A total of 150 or more gives cards back, and a blue last card brings back the strongest ones.
