About the game

A game of bowling is ten frames, and in each you get two balls to knock down ten pins. All ten with the first ball is a strike, worth ten plus your next two balls; all ten with two balls is a spare, worth ten plus your next ball. A perfect game is twelve strikes in a row, for 300.

Here you roll the ball with a swipe: pick your spot at the foot of the lane, swipe up, and bend the end of the movement a little to make the ball hook. The oil on the front of the lane makes it curve late, and the daily lane changes how much it hooks. Play alone, against a bot or with a friend on the same screen. It is one of a set of small games written by the author of Chogan with the help of AI tools; the lane is drawn by the code and the sounds are generated while you play.

Playing it here

Click Play and pick Alone, Versus bot or Two players. At the bottom of the lane, press where you want to stand and swipe towards the pins: a faster swipe throws a faster ball, and bending the end adds spin. The best strikes come from the pocket between the head pin and the pin beside it, not dead centre.

A few things worth knowing

Aim for the pocket. A ball that hooks into the gap beside the head pin sweeps the most.

Mind the daily lane. Drier lanes hook more, oilier lanes hook less.

Keep swipes smooth. A shaky swipe sends the ball where you did not mean.

Credits and licence

Bowling is part of Chogan by Chogan (choganhq), published under the MIT licence. The repository was written with the help of AI, and this page says so openly. Everything is drawn by the code and the sounds are generated on the fly; the only font is Vazirmatn (SIL Open Font License 1.1). The licence texts are linked from this page. We took out the app shell: this game opens on its own, with no app menu, sharing or league points, the language follows the site's (the Portuguese was translated by us) and nothing is requested from other sites.
