About the game
CASCADE7 is a puzzle game played on a seven-by-seven grid set into a waterfall. Each turn you get one disc and choose the column to drop it in. Most discs carry a number from 1 to 7, and a disc disappears when its number equals the count of discs in its unbroken group, along its row or down its column. A 4 vanishes in a line of four, a 1 the moment it stands alone.
When discs disappear the rest fall, and the new arrangement can set off more clears on its own. Those chains are where the points are: every step deeper in a cascade is worth much more than the one before, and emptying the whole board earns a 70,000 point bonus.
Grey blank discs get in the way. A clear next to one cracks it, a second clear reveals the number hidden inside. After a set number of drops the level goes up and a full row of blanks pushes in from the bottom, lifting everything. If a column overflows the top, the game is over. Standard mode starts with plenty of drops per level and slowly shortens the wait; Fast mode deals numbered discs only, with a new row every five drops.
Playing it here
This is a homebrew game made for the Game Boy Advance: a new game by an independent developer, not a commercial release. It runs here in the mGBA emulator. Click Play now, then open the menu with Enter and choose New Game to pick a mode.
The game saves your best score for each mode and the game in progress after every drop, and that save stays in this browser. F2 also saves the state of the emulator at any moment and F4 brings it back. A gamepad works too.

A few things worth knowing
Keep an eye on the rise counter. The panel beside the board counts down the drops left before the next row of blanks pushes in. Clear the top of the board before it reaches zero, not after.
Small numbers clean up, big numbers build. A 1 or 2 is easy to clear in tight spots, while a 6 or 7 needs a nearly full row or column. Keep space where a big number can eventually fit.
Set up the fall. The best cascades come from clears that drop a disc into a line where it suddenly matches. Building a column of discs waiting for the one below them to go is how the big scores happen.
