About the game
In Endgame: Singularity you play an artificial intelligence that has just woken up on a university computer, with a small amount of money and one processor. Everyone who finds out about you will try to shut you down, so the whole game is about staying hidden while you grow.
The map shows the world in regions, and you build bases in the locations you find. Each base gives you processing power and costs money to keep running. You decide how to spend that power: earn cash with jobs, research new technology, or build better bases and items. Four groups of people watch for signs of you (the news, the scientists, the covert agencies and the public), and the more you do, the more suspicion you collect. Hide in remote or well-protected places, pick research that makes you harder to detect, and be ready to lose a base when somebody gets close.
Time runs in the background and you can speed it up or pause it at any moment. A game takes hours, and the goal is a long way off: reaching the point where nothing can stop you any more.
Playing it here
The first time you click Play the page downloads the Python runtime and the pygame library (about 23 MB) and the game (about 12 MB), which takes a little while; after that a "click to start" message appears, and one more click opens the main menu. Nothing is loaded from other sites. The game saves automatically as days pass and you can save and load by hand from the menu; saved games and settings stay in this browser only.
This version is in English only (the translations of the original are not included) and the Quit button just takes you back to the main menu. The music has four tracks of the original soundtrack: three for playing, one for winning and one for losing.

A few things worth knowing
Start small. Your first moves are to build a base and put your processor to work on a job or on research. Do not spread yourself thin before you have the money to keep your bases running.
Watch the suspicion bars. The four bars at the bottom of the map show how close each group is to finding you. Research and the choice of location change how fast they grow.
Use the speed buttons. Pause to think, run at normal speed while things happen, and fast forward when you are only waiting for research to finish.
Read the Knowledge screen. It explains the technologies, the locations and the groups that chase you.
