About the game
All fifty-two cards are dealt face up into eight columns, so there is no luck in what is hidden: the whole deal is in front of you. The aim is to build the four foundations from Ace to King by suit.
In the columns you stack cards downward in alternating colours, and you have four free cells where single cards can wait for a while. Moving several cards at once is allowed only as far as the free cells and empty columns permit, so the real game is working out the order of moves. Almost every deal can be won with careful planning. The game sends safe cards to the foundations by itself, remembers your game and has undo and redo.

A few things worth knowing
Free the Aces and Twos. Get the low cards out from under the others early.
Keep free cells empty. Each empty cell lets you move a longer run.
Plan before you move. Since everything is visible, think through a sequence before you start.
Credits and licence
Freecell Solitaire is one of the games in LittleJS Arcade, a collection by Frank Force built on his open-source LittleJS engine and released under the MIT licence. The pictures are drawn in code and the sounds are synthesised, so the game has no image or audio files. The author's repository includes AI-assistant guidance files, so the collection was written with the help of AI tools. The licence text is linked from this page and the source code is on GitHub.
