About the game
Geometrix is a tile-matching puzzle. The board is full of geometric shapes, and you swap neighbouring pairs to make rows or columns of three or more of the same shape, which then disappear. A line of three is worth one point, and a line of four counts as two lines of three.
The scoring rewards planning. When one removal causes another, the combo counter goes up, and the points of each new removal are multiplied by it, up to nine times. The chain breaks as soon as new shapes drop in from the top.
There are three modes. In Remove all, you have to clear the whole board; if one or two shapes of a kind are left with no way to match, you lose. Swap limit and Time limit are about scoring as much as possible before the swaps or the clock run out, and their high scores are saved.
Playing it here
This is a homebrew game made for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color: a new game by an independent developer, not a commercial release. It runs here in binjgb, a Game Boy emulator compiled to WebAssembly, in its Game Boy Color version. Click Play now and press Enter to reach the menu.
High scores are kept in this browser, the same way the cartridge's battery memory would keep them. F2 also saves the current state of the emulator and F4 brings it back. A gamepad works too.

A few things worth knowing
Think in pairs. The cursor always covers two shapes; rotate it with B to choose between a horizontal and a vertical swap.
Fours are worth more. A line of four scores like two lines of three, and a longer line even more.
Look for chains. Removing a line low on the board drops everything above it, which can complete new lines and raise the combo multiplier.
Remove all is a puzzle, not a race. Before swapping, check you are not leaving one or two lonely shapes of a kind behind.
