About the game
Lunar Limit is an arena shooter on a single starfield screen. Your ship fires all the time; what you control is where it flies and which way the gun points. Enemies come in waves, and as long as you have lives left, there is always another wave.
That split between moving and aiming is the whole game. You can circle away from a swarm while sweeping your shots across it, or hold still and spin the gun around you. Destroyed enemies sometimes leave a power-up behind: an extra life is used straight away, while rapid fire, a shield or a bomb that clears the screen wait until you decide to use them.
Playing it here
This is a homebrew game made for the NES: a new game by an independent developer, not a commercial release. It runs here in jsnes, an NES emulator written in JavaScript. Click Play now and press Enter to start.
F2 saves the current state of the game in this browser and F4 brings it back. A gamepad also works.

A few things worth knowing
You never have to press fire. The ship shoots on its own. Keep your thumbs on the movement and the two turning buttons.
One power-up at a time. You can carry a single rapid fire, shield or bomb, and Select spends it. Picking up a new one replaces what you had, so use the bomb before grabbing something else.
Spawning is safe for a moment. After losing a life you come back in the middle of the screen, briefly protected, which is the time to get away from the crowd.
