About the game
Mini Grand Prix squeezes a whole single-seater race weekend into a few minutes. You pick a circuit on a draggable globe, choose one of six invented teams and tune the car, then drive the cartoon top-down view: one lap of qualifying sets your place on the grid, and a three-lap race against five computer drivers settles the result. A points table and a career of 24 rounds keep the weekends connected.
The fun is in the small decisions. Your tyres warm up and wear out, so the soft ones are fast but do not last. The weather changes during the race, and rain calls for different tyres. The ERS gives a short burst of speed that has to be earned by braking and that then needs time to recharge. The pit lane has its own speed limit and a box for each team, and the rules want one tyre change in the race; skip it and you get a twenty second penalty. Yellow flags, track limits and contact all have consequences.
If you only want to drive, the Time Trial mode puts you alone on the track with your best lap shown in the corner, and a rival marker once you have one.
All 24 circuits have invented names and are the author's simplified drawings; the flag on each one only marks the country of the region where it sits on the globe.
Playing it here
Click Play. On the first screen, choose a circuit from the list (or tap a marker on the globe) and then pick Grand Prix Weekend or Time Trial. The next screen lets you choose your team, the weather, the starting tyre and the number of laps; Garage Setup opens the car tuning. Press Start and drive with the keyboard. Results, setup and the season are saved in this browser. The game is in English.

Tips
Brake early on the first laps. The cars are quick and the cornering speed is lower than it looks; learn the corners in a time trial before the weekend.
Save the ERS for the straight. It runs out within a few seconds, so use it where it gains the most, and brake hard before corners to harvest more.
Watch the sky. When the forecast turns to rain, go to the pits for intermediate tyres before the track is soaked, not after.
FAQ
Can I play with a controller or a phone? The version of the game that lets a phone be a controller needs a small server and is not part of this page; here it is keyboard only.
Are the cars and teams real? No. The six teams are invented (Vector, Apex, Helix, Orbit, Pulse and Prism), and so are the circuit names.
Does it save my progress? Yes, in this browser only: best results, recent races, car setup and the season.
Credits and licence
Mini Grand Prix was made by xhhdaxx and is released under the MIT licence. The map of the globe is made from Natural Earth data, in the public domain. The game has no image, sound or font files; everything is drawn by code. In this version, the circuits have new names, the phone-controller network code is removed and the interface stays in English; the licence text and the source are linked from this page.
