About the game

Overturn is pinball without flippers. One round table is bolted to a turning floor, and the only thing you control is the turn. Gravity keeps pointing down the screen, and the ball never comes to rest: a live rubber rim throws it back toward the centre, so the rim is the flipper and the drain at the same time.

The rim is made of twelve sections, each of which can take three landings (cyan, then amber, then red). A section at zero becomes a hole, and a ball that reaches a hole is lost. Every rule of the table is written in what a turn can decide: which section the ball lands on, whether the table is moving when it lands, which face is in the ball's way, and whether the ball goes straight up the middle. A rim that is turning when the ball lands drags it in its own direction, which is the only way to send it sideways.

Lit lamps show the landings that the next finished bank will put back, and the pause screen shows the rule sheet.

A few things worth knowing

Read the rim. Plan which section you want to land on before the ball arrives.

Turning drags the ball. A moving rim is the only way to send the ball sideways.

Pause for the rules. P shows the rule sheet without costing you a ball.

Questions

Why no flippers? The only control is turning the table, and that is the whole game.

Does it work on a phone? Yes, hold the left or right half of the screen to turn.
