About the game
A field of blue and orange pegs hangs on a dark screen, with a bucket that slides along the bottom. You aim a launcher at the top and shoot a ball, and it bounces down through the pegs. Every peg the ball touches lights up and is removed when the shot ends. To win a level you have to clear all the orange ones.
The score goes up faster the longer your chain of hits, and a combo multiplier shows on screen. If the ball lands in the moving bucket at the bottom, you get the ball back. When you run out of balls with orange pegs left, the game is over.
The physics and the pop effects are drawn in code with synthesised sounds. Your best score is saved in the browser.
Playing it here
Click Play and the game opens on its title screen. Press Play there to start. The sound can be turned off with the speaker icon in the corner, and the game also has a fullscreen button.
Controls

A few things worth knowing
Aim for clusters. Orange pegs bunched together are cleared in one bounce.
Look for the bucket. Landing the ball in it gives you another shot.
FAQ
How many balls do I get? The counter at the top shows how many are left.
Credits and licence
Pegball is one of the games in LittleJS Arcade by Frank Force, and it runs on his LittleJS engine. Both are released under the MIT licence; the licence text is linked from this page. The collection's repository includes notes for AI coding assistants, so the code was written at least in part with AI help. The graphics are drawn by the code and the sounds are synthesised, so the game loads no image or audio files. The source code is on GitHub.
