About the game
r33-6 is a two-player duel played on six points arranged in a hexagon, with a line between every pair of them: fifteen lines in all. You and the computer take turns choosing a line that nobody has coloured yet. Your lines turn blue and the computer's turn red. The catch is in the last rule: whoever completes a triangle whose three sides are all in their own colour loses the game.
The game is a version of the old pencil-and-paper game known as Sim, and its name comes from Ramsey theory: with six points and two colours, it is not possible to colour every line without making at least one single-coloured triangle (the Ramsey number R(3,3) is 6). That means that no game ends in a draw, and someone is always forced to lose. The question is only who.
riidom made it in 2025 with the KAPLAY game library. The code and the whole look of the game are the author's; there are no images or sounds, and the board and the text are drawn from shapes and the default font.
Playing it here
Click Play. You move first. Click on a line, near its middle if lines cross, to colour it blue; the computer waits a moment and answers with a red line. When a triangle closes, its three sides become thick and the loser is announced, and a new board starts by itself after a few seconds. There is no score and no saved progress, only the next game.

A few things worth knowing
Think about the triangles you leave open. Before you colour a line, look at its two ends: if there are already two other blue lines that, together with it, close a triangle, you lose at once. The game checks this for you only after the fact.
Count the safe lines. At the end of the game the number of lines that do not close a triangle for you decides who is forced to move into one. Keep a few safe lines for yourself.
Do not trust the computer to play well. It picks lines at random and avoids closing a triangle only once, so it is a beatable opponent, and you can use it to learn how the game goes.
Credits and licence
r33-6 was written by riidom and is released under the MIT licence; the repository's LICENSE.md says only "MIT", so the standard text of that licence is added here. It runs on KAPLAY (MIT, KAPLAY Team), which also includes its own small default drawings and a default font. The changes made for this site are the removal of the library's promotional message from the build, the removal of source maps and a rule that blocks any request to other sites; the patch, the build script and the licence texts are linked from this page.
