About the game
Rush to the Rainbow is a pixel-art platformer about a unicorn whose rainbow trail is fading. Each level has golden coins scattered around, and a pot waiting at the end of the rainbow. You need to gather every coin and then rush the lot back to the pot, and you have to be quick, because a timer at the top counts down to the storm.
The storm builds as you play. The sky darkens, at half time rain starts to fall, and when the storm arrives lightning begins to destroy the level piece by piece. Along the way there are keys and locks, buttons, gems, hearts, spikes, breakable blocks and plenty of water to fall into. The seven levels are named by the colours of the rainbow, and the menu lets you pick any of them.
Jasper Renow-Clarke made it for js13kGames 2026, where the whole game had to fit in 13 KB. Some of the tiles are adapted from the Kenney "Pixel Platformer" pack, which is released into the public domain (CC0), and the rest of the art is the author's own.
Playing it here
Click Play, pick a level on the menu (they are in rainbow order, red first) and press Enter. Use the arrow keys, WASD or a gamepad to run and jump. Look at the clock first: the storm will not wait while you explore. Escape takes you back to the menu.

A few things worth knowing
Plan the coin route. You have to bring every coin to the pot, so look for the order that does not make you backtrack.
The storm eats the level. Once the lightning begins, parts of the course disappear, so do not leave the hard coins for last.
Not every level needs the same pace. Early levels have a lot of time to spare; use them to learn where keys and locks are.
