About the game
SkyRoads Xmas Special is the holiday edition of SkyRoads that Bluemoon Interactive made for Christmas 1993. The glider, the gauges and the rules are those of the original game; the roads are all new. Ten worlds of three roads each take you over a snowbound plain, past the northern lights, over the pole, under the ice and through a meteor storm, and finish on Christmas Eve itself, among presents piled under the tree.
The goal is the same as ever. A road of blocks and tunnels hangs in space with gaps between its sections, and you have to reach the far end without falling off, crashing into a wall or running out of fuel or oxygen. Fuel burns while you move and oxygen drains with time, so you cannot simply crawl along. Some coloured tiles speed you up, slow you down or refill your tanks, and others are best left alone.
If you have played SkyRoads, the controls will feel familiar at once, but the layouts are fresh and some of the later roads are among the trickiest the studio built.

A few things worth knowing
Start slowly on a new road. The first seconds of each road are a good place to learn where its gaps are. You can always restart with Esc.
Gravity changes from world to world. The GRAV-O-METER on the dashboard shows how hard you will fall. On low-gravity worlds jumps carry much further.
Jump early rather than late. A jump off the very edge of a block often falls short. Leave the road a little before the gap.
Coloured tiles are not decoration. Learn which ones refuel you and which ones push you around, and plan your line through them.
