About the game
You are a knight, and a warlock you once fought has left you with a curse: every so often you turn into your nemesis, a cruel villain in dark armour. To break the spell you have tracked down the mirror that was used to cast it, deep in a land of graves and dead trees. You smash it, and that is when the undead around you start to climb out of the ground.
The Cursed Mirror is a small arena battle seen from the side, under a night sky with rain and drifting clouds. Skeleton warriors come at you with blades, and glowing blue spirits fly in from above. You aim your sword with the mouse, swing with the left button and block with your shield on the right, while jumping between the stone steps around the shattered mirror. When the ring at the top of the screen fills up, the final showdown begins.
The curse is also your best weapon. A white bar under your health fills over time, and when it is full you transform into your evil self: stronger and faster, and healed rather than hurt by enemy blows, although each hit drains the curse until you turn back into the knight.
Marco Emiliozzi made The Cursed Mirror for js13kGames 2015, whose theme was "Reversed". The characters are jointed skeletons animated by the code, so defeated enemies collapse into a scatter of bones.

A few things worth knowing
Block, then strike. Skeletons telegraph their swings; raising the shield in time and answering straight after is safer than trading blows.
Save the curse for a crowd. Since enemy hits heal you while you are transformed, the best moment to change is when you are surrounded and low on health.
Watch the sky. The blue spirits fly in from above, so aiming upwards now and then keeps them from wearing you down.
