About the game

The field is a long strip of ground, wider than it is tall, with yellow half-circle domes scrolling slowly past. Soldiers walk on from both edges: allies in blue, enemies in red and purple, and your own green soldier somewhere in the middle. Nobody aims by hand. Each soldier picks the nearest opponent in range, a small cross creeps towards it, and when the cross arrives the soldier fires a beam.

All you control is where your soldier stands, by sliding the pointer left and right. The yellow domes stop beams, so a spot under a dome is safe, and a spot just beside one lets you shoot into the fight. Your soldier aims faster than the others and so tends to win a face-off if it is not caught in the open, and your allies, who aim slowly, help by drawing fire. Every enemy hit by a blue beam, from you or from an ally, scores a point. If a red beam hits you, the game is over; losing allies costs nothing.

D Fight is one of the mini-games that Kenta Cho, who works as ABA Games, makes with his crisp-game-lib library. There are no image or sound files: the graphics are drawn by the code, and the sound effects and music are generated while you play.

Playing it here

Click Play, then click or tap inside the game to start. The soldier follows the horizontal position of the mouse or finger, so the keyboard does nothing here. The window is wider than most of the other mini-games because the field is long. Nothing is installed or sent anywhere. The best score at the top right is only remembered while the page stays open.

A few things worth knowing

Watch the red crosses. A red cross creeping along the ground is an enemy lining up on someone. If it is you, step under a dome.

Let allies draw fire. Enemies pick the nearest target, so a blue soldier next to you takes the shot meant for you.

Shoot from the edge of a dome. Domes block beams in both directions, so stand beside one rather than under it when you want to fire.
