About the game
Electro Man is a platformer set inside a research complex that has decided you should not be there. Every level is a maze of corridors guarded by wall guns, laser barriers, mines and hovering drones, and the way out is a teleporter that stays dead until you have found three data disks hidden somewhere on the map.
The game started life in Poland in 1992 as Electro Body, one of the early commercial games made in the country, and reached the rest of the world two years later through Epic MegaGames. It stands out for its cold, clean look — blue steel, neon light, sprites animated with more care than most shareware of the time — and for a soundtrack that people still hum decades later.
It is also hard. Your weapon starts weak and only grows as you collect batteries, a single touch from most hazards is fatal, and checkpoints are the only thing between you and replaying half a level.
Playing it here
This is the 2006 release, rebuilt by one of its authors specifically to run in DOSBox. Click Play now, wait for the title screen and press Space (the fire key) to start. The game runs at its original low resolution, stretched to fit the player.
Controls
| Key | Action |

A few things worth knowing
Watch the rhythm before you move. Almost every trap runs on a timer. Lasers blink, guns fire in bursts, platforms cycle. Standing still for a few seconds usually shows you the gap.
Batteries are your real progress. A weak gun makes the later levels painful. Detours for batteries are rarely wasted.
Save after every checkpoint. F2 stores the last checkpoint you touched, and the save lives in your browser, so you can come back to it later.
There is help if you want it. The authors left cheat codes in the game and
listed them in its own readme: type CHAOS during play to enable them, then
SUPER for invulnerability or SKIP to jump to the next level.
