About the game

A small runner dashes to the right along a tall level with six floors, one above the other. There are holes in the floors, and the runner jumps into every one it passes, all by itself. Inside a hole it rides up and down the shaft, going back and forth between the bottom and the top, passing every floor on the way. A tap makes it jump out at whatever floor it has reached, and run on to the right from there. Tap at the wrong time and you come out on a floor with an enemy on it.

The red enemies use the same holes and the same lifts. One that is walking on your floor ends the game if it touches you, and an enemy in a shaft is harmless. Each of them leaves a trail of little yellow dots behind it as it walks. Collect them, one multiplier-worth of points each, and the multiplier goes up by one with every dot. It drops back to 1 each time an enemy hops out of a hole.

Be careful not to ride the lift for too long: the shaft scrolls to the left with the rest of the level, and if it takes you off the left edge of the screen the game is over.

Jump On is one of the mini-games that Kenta Cho, who works as ABA Games, makes with his crisp-game-lib library. There are no image or sound files: the graphics are drawn by the code, and the sound effects and music are generated while you play.

Playing it here

Click Play, then click, tap or press Space inside the game to start. Nothing is installed or sent anywhere. The best score at the top right is only remembered while the page stays open. The jump-in is automatic. The only thing you decide is when to get out.

Controls

Input Action
Tap (click, touch or Space) jump out of the hole, onto the floor you are passing

A few things worth knowing

Pick a floor, not a moment. The lift keeps moving, so think about which floor you want to be on before you reach it.

Enemies pop out of holes too. An enemy coming out of a hole ahead of you is a reason to stay in the shaft a little longer.

Keep moving right. The level scrolls, and the dots are mostly ahead of you.
