About the game

A small walker strolls along the floor, and it will climb any ladder it comes across. You cannot steer it. What you control is the world around it: at the top of the screen a platform with a ladder hanging from it slides from side to side, and when you tap it drops. It falls until it lands on something, and from then on it is part of the level, ready to be walked on.

The screen scrolls downwards all the time, and it moves faster when your tower gets high, so the walker has to keep going up or it will be carried off the bottom of the screen, which ends the game. Your job is to land each new platform where its ladder reaches the one below, so that the walker can go up one more step. It bounces off the side walls and off the edge of a platform, so a platform that is placed badly can send it back and forth for a while. If the walker is under a platform when it falls, it is flattened and the game is over.

Every few platforms there is one with a row of coins on it. The walker collects them as it passes, and each coin is worth one point more than the one before, so a run of coins is worth much more than the same coins taken one at a time. A coin that falls off the bottom takes some of that bonus away. is one of the one-button mini-games that Kenta Cho, who works as ABA Games, makes with his crisp-game-lib library. There are no image or sound files: the graphics are drawn by the code, and the sound effects and music are generated while you play.

A few things worth knowing

Think about the ladder, not the platform. The ladders hang down from the platform, and they are the only way up.

Keep out of the way. Do not drop a platform right above the walker.

Coins first when you can. The platforms with coins are the ones that pay, so build towards them.
