About the game
In the dunes of a thorny desert, a robot bounty hunter picks up a strange gun in the middle of a fight with space pirates. It works, sort of: every shot kicks back so hard that it sends the robot flying the other way.
That recoil is the whole game. Shoot at the ground to launch yourself into the air, shoot behind you to dash forward, shoot up to come back down faster. Diagonals work too. Getting through each stage means chaining blasts to cross gaps, dodge spikes and get past the pirates' gunners, while picking up the cash along the way.
A bounty board lets you choose which job to take, and once the bounties are done, a final climb waits. It was made by Finny in GB Studio for the Game Boy Competition 2025, and plays on both the original Game Boy and the Game Boy Color.
Playing it here
This is a homebrew game made for the Game Boy: a new game by an independent developer, not a commercial release. It runs here in binjgb, a Game Boy emulator compiled to WebAssembly. Click Play now and press Enter on the title screen.
F2 saves the current state of the emulator and F4 brings it back. A gamepad also works.

A few things worth knowing
Aim away from where you want to go. The gun pushes you the opposite way: down to rise, left to fly right, a diagonal to arc.
Standing still still works. With no direction held, the shot goes the way the robot is facing.
Spikes hurt, cash helps. Every stage has spikes to avoid and money to grab on the way to the end.
