About the game
Panzercorn is an arcade shooter in first person, on a rail. You fly a magic carpet low over a lake that reflects everything, between steep green canyons and under a pale tower on the horizon, and the world scrolls toward you without your steering it. Your job is to stay out of the way of the rocks and the things that shoot at you, while picking off enemies with a rainbow weapon that locks on to several targets and fires them all together.
The scoring rewards style. Locking on to two, three, four or five enemies before you release adds a lock bonus, and chaining locks together raises the titles you get called, from "lockster" up to "lock god". Flying very low over the water or very high near the ceiling for five seconds earns stunt bonuses ("pond skimmer" and "ridin high"), and a close call with a rock has its own bonus. Your score and the level are shown at the bottom, above five hearts. Every hit costs one heart, a short invulnerability window follows it, and when the hearts are gone you can retry.
Chris Subagio made Panzercorn for js13kGames 2026, where the whole game had to fit in 13 KB. It was designed first for WebXR and also plays on desktop and mobile. The 3D scene, from the canyon walls to the reflections, comes from a single shader he wrote himself, and the sound is a small synthesiser that runs in an audio worklet. There are no 3D models, textures or libraries: even the text is generated by code.
Playing it here
Click Play. The title screen says "instructions on game page", and these are them. Click the game once to wake it up, which also starts the sound, and then click the START button, which floats in the scene. Fly with W A S D, or on a touchscreen by holding a finger down and sliding it. To shoot, point at an enemy with the mouse and hold the button; the beams lock on to as many as five enemies as you keep the pointer over them. Let go to fire. The game does not save anything, and it does not need the internet. Headsets are not needed: this page runs the flat, desktop version.

A few things worth knowing
Wait for the lock. More targets locked before you release means a bigger bonus, so sweep the pointer across the enemies and let go only when you have several.
Read the rocks early. They arrive in rows across five lanes. Use W A S D to line up with a free lane as soon as you see one, because a hit costs a heart.
Fly low and high for bonuses. Five seconds near the water or near the top gives a stunt bonus that grows each time you repeat it.
