About the game
You are a small hero at the bottom of a green field, and a row of angry tree stumps is marching down the screen toward you. Each turn you aim one volley of bullets, fire it, and watch the bullets fly: they bounce off the side walls and off the top, chip away at every monster they touch and come back down. When the volley is spent the monsters take a step closer, and a new row appears at the top. Clear them faster than they arrive and the run goes on; let one cross the skull line at the bottom and it is over.
The game is all in the angle. A straight shot at the nearest stump is rarely the best one, because a bullet that glances off a wall can sweep through three or four monsters on the way back. The aim guide draws the first bounce for you, and finding the shot that uses the walls well is the puzzle that keeps each turn interesting. Every run is different, the rows get denser as you go, and the skull line creeps higher, so there is always one more turn to plan.
Gold monsters drop a coin when they fall, and green ones give you an extra bullet for the next volley, so it often pays to go for them first. Coins buy bullet colours and shapes in the shop, or 100 of them let you carry on after a game over. The game remembers your best score.
Playing it here
Click Play on the page, wait a few seconds for the game to load and press Play in its own menu. Nothing leaves your browser: the game saves your coins, best score, shop unlocks and settings in this browser, and clearing the site data starts you from zero. The in-game purchases of the original app are removed in this edition, so the shop only has things you buy with the coins you earn. The tutorial in the menu shows the rules in half a minute.

Tips
Use the walls. Aim a little past the monsters so the bullets bounce and come back through the row; one good ricochet is worth three direct hits.
Go for green first. An extra bullet makes every later volley stronger, and the effect adds up fast.
Watch the skull line. A monster that touches it ends the run unless you clear it on the next turn, so spend your volley on the lowest row when it is close.
Spend coins on a continue. If the shop has nothing you want, 100 coins buy a second chance after a game over.
FAQ
Does it need the internet once it has loaded? No. All the music, art and code are in the page you downloaded, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Is there sound? Yes, a looping music track and a hit sound, both at half volume by default. The sliders are in Settings.
Can I play on a phone? Yes, dragging works with touch, though the page is tuned for a mouse.
