About the game
Tux Planet Speedrun Any% is a snow-and-ice platformer in the spirit of SuperTux, with one twist: it is designed to be speedrun, and the tools of a speedrunner are part of the game. There are ten levels, a clock that never stops running, and the whole thing is meant to be replayed until the time is as low as you can make it.
You run and jump as Tux through snowy levels, stomping or dodging the enemies on the way. The game gives you what a speedrunner would normally need a tool for: you can drop a savestate and reload it, slow time down to line up a tricky jump, and, once the game teaches you, teleport a short distance. Using them well is the skill being tested. The game itself warns you, with a smile, that the level design is terrible; it is deliberately awkward, and the fun is in finding the fastest line through it.

A few things worth knowing
Savestates are for practice. Save right before the hard part and reload it until your hands know it.
Slow motion is a precision tool. Hold Shift for the awkward jumps and let go when the road is clear.
The clock is the score. Every retry costs time, so plan where to save.

Credits and licence
Tux Planet Speedrun Any% was made by dtsudo, who published it under the GPL-3.0. The art, sounds and music come from several free-culture authors: among them Benjamin K. Smith, Lanea Zimmerman, Daniel Eddeland, William.Thompsonj, Nushio, Adrix89, FrostC, Grumbel, Jetrel, Kelvin Shadewing, Kenney, KnoblePersona, Nemisys, Basto, Little Robot Sound Factory, cynicmusic, migfus20, Cal McEachern and wansti, and the SuperTux team (Tux). Each file is under CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA, GPL or AGPL; the credits and the full texts are in the licence file linked from this page, and the exact source code (with our small changes) is hosted next to the game. The game was compiled from C# to JavaScript with Bridge.NET (Apache-2.0). We changed three things: a policy that stops the page from loading anything from other sites, the link to the author's GitHub page (it does nothing here), and the browser-save keys, which get a prefix so they do not clash with other games. We also made the joke about the "devs" in the instructions a neutral sentence.
