About the game
Vector Rush is a 3D racing game in which your craft floats along magnetic tracks that wind between the towers of a night city. The track climbs, banks and loops, and the craft can ride the walls of the banked bends. You steer sideways, the track decides the direction, and the speed, the line and the nerve are up to you.
A race is three laps against three computer rivals. Holding Space in a corner charges a drift; releasing it pays you back in nitro, and a longer drift pays more. The nitro gives a burst of speed for passing on the straights. Cyan boost pads refill the nitro, orange obstacles damage your shield, and if the shield runs out you go back to the last checkpoint with three seconds added to your time. The throttle is automatic by default, so you can focus on the line; you can turn that off in Settings.
There are three tracks (Neon Harbor, Skyline Spiral and Twilight Run) and three craft with different characters: the balanced ARC-01, the agile KITE-02 and the fast ONYX-03. Each race can earn a medal, bronze, silver or gold, depending on your time. A bronze unlocks the next track, and the medal points unlock the other two craft. A one-lap Practice mode teaches the controls step by step. The game keeps your best times and settings in your browser.
Made with AI help
The project says it was made by its author in collaboration with an AI coding assistant. The code, the Blender models, the synthesized sounds and the shaders are the author's work under the MIT licence, and there are no assets from other games.
Playing it here
Click Play and wait while the game loads (about 12 MB, downloaded only when you press the button). Press Enter, or click Start Race, and the countdown begins. For the first time, Practice Lap is a good start. The game is a 3D scene, so a computer with a graphics card gives the best frame rate; the Settings screen has a graphics quality option if it stutters. The interface of the original game was written in Chinese; it is translated into English in this version.
Controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| W or Up | accelerate (automatic by default) |
| S or Down | brake |
| A D or left / right arrows | steer |
| Space | hold in a corner to drift, release to charge the nitro |
| Shift | nitro |
| Esc | pause or go back |
| R | restart the race |
| Enter | start the race from the main menu |
| F11 | full screen |
Tips
Brake before the bend. Hitting the walls costs speed and shield, so it pays to slow down early and to use the nitro on the way out.
Drift for nitro. A drift longer than about half a second pays back some nitro when you release it, and a longer one pays much more and adds a speed bonus.
Follow the cyan line. The cyan boost pads and the cyan edge of the track show the line; the orange blocks are the ones to avoid.
Chase the medals. A bronze unlocks the next track and every medal point brings the next craft closer. Replaying a track for a better medal is the heart of the game.
FAQ
Why is the game in English here if it was Chinese? The author wrote the whole interface in Chinese. We translated the texts into English for this site and left everything else as it was.
Was the game made with AI? Yes, with an AI coding assistant, as the project states.
Does it work on a phone? It needs a keyboard, so it is meant for computers.
Credits and licence
Vector Rush was made by ToBeWin. The code, the original 3D models, the synthesized sounds and the interface are under the MIT licence. The interface font is a subset of Noto Sans SC under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The source of this build is linked from this page. The game runs on Godot Engine 4.7.2, under the MIT licence.
Changes made for this site: the interface text is translated from Chinese into English and the project name is set to "Vector Rush". Nothing else in the game was changed.
