About the game
In Zaz, chains of coloured balls roll slowly along a track toward a hole. Your launcher sits on a rail at the bottom of the screen. Instead of being handed a ball to shoot, you pull one out of the chain yourself: a click fires a claw that grabs the nearest ball in its path, and a second click throws it back. When it lands next to two or more balls of the same colour, the group disappears and the chain closes the gap.
Clearing more than three balls at once is a combo and scores more for each ball. If any ball reaches the hole, you lose a life. Each level also has a target time, and finishing early adds a time bonus to your score.
Some balls carry a symbol. Clearing them pauses the chain for a moment, slows it down, pushes it backwards, shows an aiming line for the next shot or blows up the balls around them.
Game modes
Sequential. Play the levels of a set in order, with three lives. Each level you clear unlocks the next one, and you can start from any unlocked level. There are two sets: Easy, with 10 levels, and Professional, with all 23.
Survival. The same levels, but a single ball in the hole ends the game, so the goal is to get as far as you can.
The game keeps a profile for each player, with the unlocked levels and options, and a hall of fame with the best scores and the shortest time for each level.
Playing it here
This is Zaz 1.0.1, the latest version, compiled for the browser from the source package published by its author. The download is about 26 MB, and your profile and high scores stay in this browser. The game is in English and needs a mouse or a keyboard. The video export of replays is not available in this version; you can still watch a replay after each level.

Tips
Grab what you need. The ball you hold is whatever you pulled out, so before clicking, look at which ball your claw will reach and where a ball of that colour would clear a group.
Pulling a ball out changes the chain too. Take balls from where they break up a mix of colours, not from a group that is almost complete.
Watch the front of the chain. The balls closest to the hole are the dangerous ones; clear around them first and save the symbol balls for when the chain is near the end.
Speed up when it is safe. Speeding the chain up at the start of a level brings the balls into reach sooner and helps you beat the target time.
