About the game

Strike hard, strike fast! Strike Force is a multinational team of special operatives who keep the world safe from HAVOC, an organisation of cackling villains with a fondness for doomsday weapons. In the previous episode HAVOC showed off a new energy beam by blasting a world landmark, and now the team has tracked down a secret HAVOC laboratory sitting on the seabed of the Arctic Ocean.

You take charge of commander Raven, a field leader and security expert, and her partner Snowdrift, a specialist in everything to do with ice and snow. Their mission is simple to state: get in, find evidence of the plan, get out, and leave no trace. The story opens with the pair floating outside the station's airlock, five hundred fathoms down.

Christopher Drum wrote Strike Force in a week for PunyJam #3, in 2023, where every game had to start in or at an airlock, and it shared second place. It is presented as "Part 3" of an imaginary cartoon series, complete with a "previously on" recap, banter and a theme-song slogan. The tone is light and the action is mostly sneaking, tinkering and problem solving.

A few things worth knowing

Think like a field agent. The two characters have different skills, and the game tells you in italics whenever you change who you are controlling.

Read the room descriptions closely. Panels, vents and equipment are often described in enough detail to suggest how they work.

There is no help on the way. The game has no hint system, so undo and a spare save are your friends when an idea goes wrong.

It is short. One sitting is enough to finish the episode.
